The Hefeneider Family Portrait Session : Documentary Style Storytelling

This is the amazing Hefeneider family. They live in a beautiful part of Portland, Oregon in a lovely home. They are full of fun, spunk and personality. Jordan and Jihae have two young children, Olivia and Miles. Miles was just about 3 months young during our session and Jihae was just getting back into work. That milestone made it a great time to have a documentary family photo session to preserve this time in their life as a family.

Baby Miles was such a little bundle of love and enjoyed snuggles with mama most of the time. Little miss Olivia was so much fun to photograph. One of my favorite things about making photographs of younger kiddos is their realness. They just do what they know and this little gal knows how to be funny and cheeky with a dash of toddler crazy. During our fun family session we played a board game, colored, watched cartoons, ate cake and tried to go for a pony ride on Bella the dog.

I loved making a story about their family and enjoyed seeing a glimpse into their precious life as it is.

Here are some of my favorite images of our time together.

"To be honest, when I saw the photos for the first time, I ugly cried. It was just so beautiful and felt so like us. It made me so happy to realize how blessed we are to have such a happy, healthy family" - JIHAE
